Funded by a grant from Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Education, the CFUL will provide a wide variety of creative, engaging, and educational opportunities designed to both support and extend the academic and personal enrichment of participating youth.

Please Note: This opportunity is only available for children in Orange County, Osceola County and Miami-Dade County.

The program supplements and enriches your child’s in-school curriculum. It will enable him or her to improve their literacy skills, ensuring their long-term academic and personal success.

Specifically, this program will meet FLDOE standards that ensure Student Achievement in Particular Grades and/or Subjects, Achievement Growth on Florida Assessments and Closing the Achievement Gap all while boosting the reading and writing comprehension, knowledge and confidence of our youth.

Additionally, if your child is in Grades 4 or 5 he or she may qualify for an extra 10 hours of tutoring through the State of Florida’s Reading Scholarship Program.

We are proud to provide this program in partnership with Step Up For Students and the Central Florida Community Arts Academy, ensuring that our youth enhance their literacy skills in a fun and engaging way: through the arts.

This program is being offered in bi-weekly cohorts, after-school, during spring break and throughout the summer. At the end of the program, students will have written and designed their own storybook.

Our Storybook Reading Program outline:
