ORLANDO, AUGUST 7, 2018 – In recognition of the Central Florida Urban League’s successful Financial Empowerment & Meet the Bankers program, the SunTrust Foundation has awarded the organization $10,000.

The funds will help continue the organization’s efforts to educate Central Floridians about financial responsibility.
   
“We would like to thank the SunTrust Foundation for recognizing our efforts to help improve the lives of Central Floridians,” said Glenton Gilzean Jr., President and CEO of the Central Florida Urban League. “Our financial empowerment programs focus on helping individuals establish a solid financial footing through proper education and counseling that focuses on budgeting, saving and establishing credit.”

The SunTrust Foundation aligns its purpose with SunTrust Bank’s purpose of Lighting the Way to Financial Well-Being. In furtherance of this purpose, the foundation awards grants primarily to support financial education, financial counseling, career readiness and small business/entrepreneurship, in addition to local community grants.
