It is with a heavy heart that the Central Florida Urban League announces the passing of Dr. Bob Billingslea on September 1, 2017. Dr. Billingslea was a dedicated supporter of the CFUL for 40 years and served multiple terms as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors, the staff and the volunteers of the Central Florida Urban League are deeply saddened by his passing and our deepest sympathies are with his family during this difficult time.

“From my first day on the job, Dr. Billingslea took me under his wing, providing invaluable counsel and support,” said Glenton Gilzean Jr., President and CEO of the Central Florida Urban League. “Dr. Billingslea was a leader in our community and a champion of minority rights for five decades, my heart goes out to his wife Deidre, his son and two grandchildren."

Annually, the legacy of Dr. Billingslea is recognized at the Central Florida Urban League's Cornerstone Awards & Gala. The Bob Billingslea Legacy Award is given to a member of the community who exemplifies the values he stood for and held dear.
