The Central Florida Urban League believes that today's verdict which found Markeith Loyd guilty on all five charges in the murder of Orlando Police Department Lieutenant Debra Clayton is an important step forward for her family and our community.

“Lieutenant Clayton was a hero for our entire community. The impact she had on the lives of our youth was profound and we all miss her leadership, warmth and friendship dearly," said Glenton Gilzean Jr., President and CEO of the Central Florida Urban League. “Nothing will bring Lieutenant Clayton back to us, but on behalf of all who knew and worked with her, we are thankful that justice is being served.”
