City of Orlando Presents: What's Up Downtown: Empowerment of Black Entrepreneurs

African American entrepreneurs are crucial to the economic health of the nation’s economy. Between 2007 and 2017, the number of African American firms rose 34.5%, from 1.9 million to 2.6 million accounting for roughly half (49.9%) of all small businesses owned by people of color.

On March 4, join the Downtown Development Board for a virtual panel regarding the state of empowerment and growth of African American entrepreneurs.

Kicking off the event will be Thomas C. Chatmon Jr., Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board/Community Redevelopment Agency.

Tanisha Nunn Gary, President of the African American Chamber of Commerce, will serve as moderator.
