Gospel Goes Classical Gala Concert

Residents of Pine Hills have the Gospel Goes Classic Gala Concert circled on their calendar as not only will it be an evening of fantastic music, but organizers are re-investing proceeds into the Pine Hills Public Safety Initiative.

The concert, set to take place on June 9 at the Calvary Assembly Orlando (1199 Clay St.) in Winter Park (7:30 p.m.) is being spearheading by former WBC & IBC heavyweight world champion boxer Pinklon Thomas, whose foundation Project P.I.N.K. works to motivate teens and at-risk youth as well as Steve Lane, founder of Digital 1 Media Services. Both Thomas and Lane realized the importance of the CFUL’s Public Safety Initiative and offered their support.

“We are excited to be a partner in the Gospel Goes Classic Gala,” said Glenton Gilzean Jr., President and C.E.O. of the Central Florida Urban League. “Any initiative that will benefit our community, our public safety initiative and our ultimate goal of reducing gun violence by 30 percent in five years is something that we are proud to be involved with.”

Guests in attendance will hear the fantastic vocals of BeBe Winans, Denyce Graves, Monique Steele and the Antioch Baptist Church of Oviedo. The evening begins with a walk down the red carpet at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets, priced between $40 - $70, can be purchased online: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gospel-goes-classical-orlando-tickets-42083193966
