Black-on-Black Crime Prevention Program

The Black-on-Black Crime Prevention Program (BBC) is a unique community-based program that focuses on strengthening families using a holistic approach. The BBC encourages youth through club workshops, community activities, church activities, school activities, community-wide events, and youth conferences.

Youth Crime Prevention and Intervention Program (YCPIP)

The YCPIP serves youth between 10-18 years old who are living in at-risk environments. The program offers anger management, first-time offender, teen pregnancy prevention, tutoring and rite-of passage workshops. This program also provides career counseling to youth 16-18 years old who are not enrolled in school.

Youth Leadership Summit (YLS)

The Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) is our annual event that educates, empowers, and develops youth between the ages of 13-18 years old. The Youth Leadership Summit covers topics such as entrepreneurship, college prep, health, culture, and healthy relationships.

The Workforce Job Training Program is a youth career preparation program rooted in work activities.

It is a comprehensive workforce development initiative to re-connect “high-risk” out-of-school and/or adjudicated youth between the ages of 16 to 21 years old, with education through employment. The program, along with our partners, delivers the academic, career exploration and personal development acumen that are prerequisites to launching successful careers.

This initiative is funded through the U. S. Department of Labor with an objective to place these youth in meaningful unsubsidized employment.

Program Participants:

  • The program addresses the needs of thirty “high risk”, out-of-school and or adjudicated 18 through 21 year old youth.

  • Participants whose reading and math levels test at a 6.0 to 7.9. (Only for participants who do not possess a diploma or GED).

  • Selected youth will not be eligible if convicted of violent offenses including: murder and non- negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, larceny/theft in excess of $5,000, arson and hate crimes.

Program Requirements:

  • The Workforce Job Training Program is a four-domain model spearheaded by work, an activity that resonates with our youth.

  • The domains include: Assessment, Case Management (Counselor Advocates) and Mentors Educational Continuum; Work Continuum; Personal Development to include job readiness & basic skills

Participants leave the program with enhanced employability skills, financial management skills, and enhanced life skills placement in unsubsidized employment, post secondary education, or a military career.
