Orlando, February 14, 2025 – The Central Florida Urban League would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the Thompson family on the passing of State Senator and community leader, Geraldine Thompson.

“With the passing of Senator Thompson, our community has truly lost someone special,” said Paula Hoisington, Chairwoman of the Central Florida Urban League. “Senator Thompson was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but to the community and her constituents, she was a lifelong advocate for education, healthcare and civil rights. Throughout her career, Senator Thompson was committed to making a difference, leaving behind a legacy of service and inspiration.”
